Because I'm bored and I read a lot
Kristenfromkansas did this, and I’ve seen it on facebook enough, so I figured I’d go ahead and do it. Just because. But I’ll do it here, and not on the ‘book, because I don’t like posting notes too often on there. So here goes.
1. Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen 2. The Lord of the Rings - JRR Tolkien (I didn’t read the other two. Oops). 3. Jane Eyre -...
I might be moving in less than two months.
WHAT???
Pretty
Gorgeous.
Love it!
That’s all. There’s more, but I’m not a fashion critic or a news site.
Oscars Grade: A-
The winners weren’t the highlight of this year’s Academy Awards, at least not to me. i was more interested in the changes in presentation of the awards and the format of the show. Change isn’t always bad. Some of the format choices were a little questionable, but overall I thought the show was far less boring than it has been in the past.
What was good:
Hugh Jackman as host. He...
Are these really a "thing?" →
I saw these at a store in Lawrence yesterday. Is this an actual “thing?”
Shenannigans!
I had the chance to get a ride to Lawrence this week, which was good, because I needed to meet with the KU Law career services people to see about getting me some good old employment.
My trip there and back was a bit different than my usual jaunt up to Larryville however, which made for an interesting couple of days.
One of my friends, (we’ll call him “Danny”), who lives here...
RIP Socks.
For a piece of CHICKEN?
– Michelle, when I told her the KU Law Diversity Banquet was $50 for non-students.

Noticing a theme here. But that’s ok.
Oddly inspired
Sometimes inspiration happens in the most unexpected ways.
::looks around fearfully for the Hallmark card people::
Ok, so it’s sappy, but it’s true. Today is one of those days where I feel really inspired and hopeful. I’m not entirely sure where it all came from, but it’s here, and I’m enjoying it while it lasts.
I got up fairly early today, and didn’t...
I’ll work when I’m 30.
– Me, to a friend regarding this whole “getting a job” thing
I'm a fan, regardless of status.
Besides, this one is SPARKLY! Happy Valentine’s Day! <3
Not so much
Why is ABCFamily premeiring A Walk to Remember on VD (tomorrow)? Do they KNOW how that movie ends? Have they even SEEN it? Waahhhhh! :’(
Way to go ABCFamily…way. to. go.
Explo-jevich (via facebook chat) (yes, same convo)
Me: well, the tv exploded....actually, the projection lamp inside the tv exploded, so I've been without my big screen HD glory for about a week
Guy friend: wow, were you watching 'Friends'?
Me: no, blagojevich actually. his hair caused massive system overload
Bow-chicka-wow-wow! (via facebook chat)
Me: I am supposed to be awake to let the repair guy in tomorrow, which annoys me, but I guess that's what I get for not having a job
Guy friend: Sounds like a porno
Me: I am expected to sign for packages and let the repair guys in
Me: yes. yes it does. and I just realized that
Guy friend: Ha ha, sign for packages
Me: bonus!
If only....
I wish it could be this perfect every day. But the circumstances have to be just right for “perfect” days to come around…I guess that’s why they’re so good. If they were every day, they wouldn’t be so perfect.
Hmmm…I wish it could be this perfect only as often as it already is :-)
Total rewind live
I can’t get the “ebony and ivory” song out of my head, and I’m not sure how it got there in the first place!
@#$%&*&%$%*#@#@!!!
My so-called health insurance, purchased in between student insurance and grown-up job insurance, hasn’t insured much of anything.
Hey, I didn’t PLAN on getting sick last fall, it just freaking happened, ok?
Bite me, Fidelity Security Life Insurance Company!
BITE ME.
Yelp schmelp?
So….
I’ve only been on Yelp a little over a day, but I’m already reading negative things about the service, and how it doesn’t treat smaller businesses fairly, and is fairly inconsistent in the enforcement of its “rules” about false posting. I’ve also read that many Yelpers are considered, well…douchebags.
Now, I ony know three or four people,...
Why should I worry?
This makes me happier than you know (or than I thought it would):
Too bad it’s not on Blu Ray, but I don’t really care. One of my favorite movies from the ’80s!
I'm on Yelp now
The question is whether Yelp will turn out to be a successful adventure into online reviewing (mostly of restaurants), or whether it will fall by the wayside.
I’ve already done about 12 reviews. So far so good.
Hmm….
I love this! reminiscing on gchat...

sara: omg, I was thinking about that night not too long ago too…that was a total jedi mind trick. me: when i thought of it, i was seriously laughing out loud, all by myself. the details are fuzzy, yet i remember exactly what i was wearing. sara: was that the same night we somehow [redacted]? WOW. me: oh yeah. definitely. sara: haha. i seem...
Still True
I never get tired of this:
It’s funny because it’s true.
Soup or Bowl?
Best parts of the Superbowl:
Bruce Springsteen’s “crotch cam”
The Dorito’s ad with the snowglobe
The home made guacamole, dill dip, and burritos. YUM!
The Puppy Bowl pre-game show!
Learning that Heroes will be back tomorrow night
The Steelers winning (I’m not a huge fan of either team that played tonight, but I tend to pick a favorite and stick with it once all...
The "F" month
A little clarification for those who don’t know:
I could write a rant about how February sucks, how it’s the oatmeal raisin cookie of the calendar, the month nobody wanted, the fake month, the month when the weather is worst, illness runs rampant, VD occurs, the 28 leftover days that the other months left behind, no days off for school even though President’s Day falls in...
And so it begins....
Guess what everyone? Today marks the beginning of the lamest 28 days of the year (apologies to anyone whose birthday falls this month. Really!), the month I fondly refer to as the “F” month: FEBRUARY.
I grade you, February:
EPIC FAIL!
