GPOYW: The “Once Upon a Time I Used to Wear Glasses” Edition Summer 2005, right before I had the first of two life-changing eye surgeries*. I couldn’t wear my contacts for about a week or two before the surgery. The prescription was -12 at this point. Yeah. After surgery, I continued to wear my glasses at night (at a much reduced prescription) due to astigmatism caused by the healing process. I had that corrected in August 2008, and haven’t touched the glasses since then. I don’t REALLY miss them. *The two surgeries I had were Verisyse Phakic Lens Implant surgery in August 2005 and photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) in August 2008, in case you were wondering
