In the Mean Time

In transition, not lost in translation

Notes &

Oh TV…

When I was in college, I didn’t watch much TV.  I had a few shows here and there (Dawson’s Creek…even The Real World from time to time), but mostly not.  In Law School I watched a lot of what I call “background noise” TV.  I wasn’t really attached to most of it (except for LOST, and maybe ANTM), but it was good for when I didn’t want to sit in a quiet room, or look at a computer screen or a book or do anything requiring actual thought after a ridiculous day of classes.  I had so much going on in Lawrence all the time that I didn’t really think of TV as something to “do.”

Now, I am not working and I am not in school.  I see friends occasionally, although most don’t live around here, and I go out when I can, but I have witnessed my TV watching increase over the past few months of being home in this non-Lawrence town.

So here’s the weekly-ish TV line-up of my favorite shows as of this week, subject to change as the networks see fit:

  • Sunday: NFL Football, 60 Minutes, Cold Case, The Unit
  • Monday: The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Heroes, Gossip Girl*, Boston Legal**, Little People, Big World*
  • Tuesday: The Mentalist
  • Wednesday: ANTM***, Criminal Minds
  • Thursday: CSI
  • Friday: I can’t think of anything I watch on Fridays
  • Saturday: College Football, SNL (if it’s new and if I’m home)
  • Weeknights: The Daily Show/The Colbert Report, Letterman

* Recorded, usually watched later in the night or the next day

** Canceled as of this week (che triste)

*** Seasonal, but it just ended so I added it to the list anyways; subsituted by or concurrent with Project Runway :-)

I lost track of Grey’s Anatomy and Desparate Housewives during law school.  Meh.  Sundays and Mondays are obviously the most TV-heavy, and when I look at them in a list, I only really watch a couple of hours any other given day (sports don’t count in the same way as other TV).

LOST starts soon, and I might start watching Scrubs now on ABC.

I guess it’s not that bad after all! :-)
