In the Mean Time

And because I didn’t do it before….

A quick rundown of my fantastic weekend in Lawrence and KC December 20-23.

I drove to Lawrence on Saturday night, 20 December to meet up with some friends I hadn’t seen since July or August. Fun fun fun. And much fun was had. We went to the Eldridge, then to the Tap Room for an oldies dance party, and then to an afterparty which got fashion photo-tastic.

The next day, Sunday, I mostly chilled, got a chance to hang out with the kids I used to babysit, which was really nice, discovered my debit card was missing, and after some detective work, found out it was at the Tap Room, but I couldn’t get it back until the next day, because it was closed for a private party. Meh. I vegged with Michelle (my gracious hostess for the weekend) Sunday night, watching True Life and facebook stalking people til the wee hours.

Monday, I had lunch with my old roommate, Ayesha, whom I hadn’t seen for months, at India Palace (omg, yum). It was great to see her and catch up. Sometimes I really miss the old days with the girls, before we all had to grow up. After lunch, I made my way to KC to hang out with Kelly, which was everything I hoped it would be and more! I hadn’t seen her since August, and I was supposed to visit Kelly in November, but then I got sick and then the plane ticket prices went up, so it just wasn’t meant to be, but I was bummed nonetheless. So it was great to see her and her parents (and her dog, Jack!) again after so long. We had dinner and such at Brio and then went out to ReVerse in the freezing cold, but the cold drove us in pretty early, so we went back to her parents’ condo and watched TLC and Facebook stalked people til the wee hours. Hmm.

Tuesday, we got up, braved the cold and icy sidewalks (aren’t the sidewalks supposed to be safe? The roads were safer, so half the time, we walked on the streets of the plaza). We had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen (again, yum), and shopped a bit, mostly at Anthropologie, where I managed to score two pairs of ridiculously cute pants for under $100. BONUS!

Then I drove home to Wichita in mostly good weather, stopped to get gas and drop my stuff at home, had dinner with Jolynn, and then hung out with Sara B and some others from WCS (oh high school), after which, Sara and I went back to her place for a bit, and Facebook stalked people into the semi-wee hours, before the ice on the roads got really bad. Double hmm.

The moral of this story: Facebook rules our lives. Photos from that weekend posted, where else? ;-)
