Oddly inspired

Sometimes inspiration happens in the most unexpected ways.

Ok, so it’s sappy, but it’s true. Today is one of those days where I feel really inspired and hopeful. I’m not entirely sure where it all came from, but it’s here, and I’m enjoying it while it lasts.

I got up fairly early today, and didn’t accomplish too much and ended up taking a long nap in the afternoon. I wasn’t too inspired by that, but my crazy and vivid “nap-dream” was insane, and a little bit inspirational.

In the evening, while cooking dinner (I know, right?), I had to run to the grocery store. On my way into the store, I ran into my old high school science teacher, whom I’ve known since early middle school, and it was good to catch up and just chat for a while. I guess we really do seem “all grown up” to the teachers who’ve known us since we were 11. Not too many of those. Then, just as he was leaving, I ran into my old supervisor from the law firm two summers ago. Weird! I don’t know why it was weird, I mean, eventually you’ll run into people when you live in the same city as they do! I chatted with him for a bit, and then went about my grocifying, and I couldn’t wipe the cheesy grin off my face. I don’t know why, but it was one of those “right place, right time” moments.

Tonight, I got an email from one of my good friends from law school, with whom I’ve done a terrible job of keeping up. It was so great to get back in touch and hear some wonderful and exciting news from her, that I couldn’t help but be excited and happy.

It’s the little things I guess, but I’ll take it!
